Boone County Humane's Fur Ball goes virtual

The Humane Society for Boone County has scheduled its annual Fur Ball fundraiser for Feb. 20. This year, like so many other events, the fundraiser will be virtual, presented by TDS Telecom.

The VIP Virtual Viewing Party will start at 7 p.m., with the event starting at 7:30 p.m. Animal Planet's “America’s Cat Daddy,” Jackson Galaxy, will be the speaker for the VIP Virtual Viewing Party. The animal behaviorist will entertain the VIPs with his witty cat stories, followed by a Q&A session. The Virtual Fur Ball will feature radio personality and Boone County resident Kristi Lee, of radio's "The Bob and Tom Show," as the event emcee.

HSforBC provides food, health care, vaccinations and spay-and-neuter services for all animals in its care. It is 100 percent volunteer operated and receives no tax dollars. In addition to its need of volunteers to help work at the shelter and to foster animals, there is a need for donations of requested items and monetary donations that will go toward the care of the animals and day-to-day operations of the shelter. The shelter is putting together an online auction that will include some unique items, including a chance to bid on naming a litter of puppies or kittens that are in the care of HSforBC. The online auction will go live Feb, 13 and will end the following Sunday. For info, visit www.HSforBC.org. All contest prizes and auction items will be scheduled for pickup from the shelter following the virtual event.

Tickets are $500, which provides 10 emails to access the virtual gala, and $50 for individual tickets with single email access. For tickets, click here: HSforBCFurball.givesmart.com
