A six-month-old French bulldog is the winner!
No, not of a dog show. Wilbur, a purebred pup owned by Amy Noland, is the new mayor of Rabbit Hash, a Boone County, Kentucky, hamlet of 315 people.
"Rabbit Hash, Kentucky, has never had an actual person or human as a mayor," Noland told NBC News. She said the tradition emerged in the late 1990s.
Noland, who fosters cats and has two rescue dogs, said there's a thriving community of dog lovers in the town.
She describes Wilbur, who she adopted four months ago, as an "anomaly" because he's an American Kennel Club registered purebred dog.
