ICAN service dog helps woman with mobility issues

On the latest Pet Pals TV, host Patty Spitler joined News 8’s Britt Baker, along with Indiana Canine Assistant Network (ICAN) Communications Director Samantha Thompson, Ann Stevenson, and Ann’s service dog, Parker.

ICAN says it is the state’s only accredited organization placing service dogs with Indiana adults, children, and veterans living with disabilities.

Most of ICAN’s dog training is done by incarcerated people at three Indiana prisons, pairing skill-building for handlers with critical support for Hoosiers who need assistance.

Ann Stevenson has a form of muscular dystrophy and relies on Parker, a black Labrador, for mobility help. See how Parker helps her with mobility issues.
