IndyHumane gets donation

PRESS RELEASE: IndyHumane has received a grant totaling $208,000 from the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust. The Trust seeks to help people in need, protect animals and nature, and enrich community life in metropolitan Indianapolis and Phoenix, Arizona.

“IndyHumane serves 10,000 animals annually through a variety of services including low cost spay/neuter surgeries, vaccines and adoptions. In 2018 alone, we found loving homes for 3,450 cats and dogs,” said David Horth, IndyHumane’s Chief Executive Officer. “As we look to continue helping animals and members of our community through our welfare center, we are very grateful to the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust for providing us with this grant as it will give us the resources to increase our efforts.”

IndyHumane will utilize the grant for spay/neuter operational support and a rebrand of the IndyHumane Animal Welfare Center (AWC) in Haughville. The AWC consistently provides hundreds of hours of care to local animals and people in need each month. In June 2019, the center performed 794 spay/neuter surgeries, of which 206 were community cats. It aims to work toward a more humane and safer city through low-cost spay/neuter and vaccination efforts.

“IndyHumane continues to strengthen its role in reducing pet homelessness and overpopulation in Marion County. We’re pleased to support its efforts to help more clients access the range of services at its downtown clinic, and ultimately spay or neuter nearly 14,000 cats and dogs over the next two years,” said Kent E. Agness, trustee, Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust.
