Meet Pet Pals TV's Travel Experts!

Hello! We are Ann Craig-Cinnamon and John Cinnamon and we are so happy to be a part of the Pet Pals TV family! We’d like to introduce ourselves to you.

Our background is in broadcasting. Each of us have had long careers as high profile on-air radio personalities in Indianapolis, Indiana. In fact, that’s how we met in the early 1990’s. Ann spent 30 years in both radio and television, mostly as the co-host of morning radio shows and John has 25 years of radio on air experience. We actually co-hosted morning shows together for more than six years. We currently host a travel radio show in the Indianapolis market and we are now contributing to Pet Pals TV.

We became entrepreneurial around 2001 and have owned numerous businesses including a mortgage company, dry cleaners, ecommerce website and a monthly magazine that we published. When an opportunity came along to buy a travel franchise, we jumped in with both feet. They say “do what you love” and we love travel.

We started a franchise and owned it for five years before selling it and moving to Travel Leaders where we currently are travel agents in Fishers, Indiana.

Our travels are very extensive. We have now visited all 50 states, close to 100 countries and all 7 continents. Not only have we taken the typical trips to Europe and elsewhere, we have also made it our goal to see places that are more “off the beaten path”. In that regard we have visited places such as Tibet, Myanmar, Cuba, Easter Island, Antarctica and even the DMZ. Ann once lived in Tehran, Iran and has written a book about it entitled, Walking Naked in Tehran.

We also seek out “experiential travel” and have attended such events as Carnivale in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany; Mardi Gras in New Orleans, Louisiana; the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain; New Years’ Eve in Time Square, New York; and Chinese New Year in Shanghai, China.

Animals have played a prominent role in our travels. In addition to numerous safaris, we have gone gorilla trekking in Rwanda, snorkeled with sea lions in the Galapagos, fed endangered orangutans in Sumatra, and followed rhinos on a walking safari in Zambia. We caught amazing photos of whales fishing alongside our ship in the Antarctic Sound and went nose to nose with penguins on the Falkland Islands. There are breathtaking creatures in this world!

From the air we have viewed Victoria Falls from a helicopter, flown over Cappadocia in Turkey in a hot air balloon and watched in awe as the Northern Lights put on a spectacular hour-long show in Iceland.

On water, we have sailed on the Nile, through the Panama Canal and in a gondola in Venice.

We have climbed the incomparable Petra to look down on the iconic Treasury Building in Jordan, hiked town-to-town in gorgeous Cinque Terra in Northwest Italy, and climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.

Our travels include visiting Angkor Wat in Cambodia a ruin that was overrun by jungle as it sat undiscovered for 1000 years. And our travels also include visiting Chernobyl in the Ukraine, a more modern-day ruin that has also been reclaimed by nature. Walking through the eerie ghost town of Pripyat that was evacuated after the nuclear reactor exploded was an all-time fascinating and educational experience.

Our all-time favorite day was New Year’s Day 2008 when we rode around Easter Island on a scooter and encountered so few people that we felt like the last people on earth.

We speak about our travels to groups and organizations in a travel presentation that utilizes the photographs and videos that we have taken during our adventures. We love sharing our travels with groups!

Travel is the best thing you can do to improve your personal knowledge. It is an education like none other. It makes history come alive. It makes geography personal. It creates bridges to other cultures. There is simply nothing like seeing the world.

We believe in collecting memories and experiences, not just souvenirs.

We can help you collect a few memories with a trip that we have arranged just for fans of Pet Pals TV. It is a 7 day land and sea adventure in the Galapagos Islands aboard the Monserrat with GAdventures.

You will fly into Quito, Ecuador which is a pretty city right on the equator. It’s only about a 5 hour flight from Miami and Ecuador uses the US Dollar as its currency, making it a pretty easy trip.

The animals you will see in the Galapagos are found nowhere else on earth. They don’t run away from humans either because we are not their predators. You will see iguanas, sea lions, blue and red-footed boobies and, of course, the famous giant Galapagos tortoises. Darwin came up with his theory of natural selection while visiting the Galapagos and there is a research center named for him on one of the islands.

This bucket list trip is June 12-18 and the price starts at $3149 per person exclusive of international air.

Did we mention that we are the proud pet parents of Reggie who is a 5 year old Havanese?
