Rrrrrribit! I'm toxic!

The world’s most toxic creature is a little frog! Two golden poison dart frogs are included in an interesting exhibit about poisons, now on view at the Indiana State Museum, 650 W. Washington St., Indianapolis. “The Power of Poison” features poisons in nature, literature and medicine, on loan from the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. It will run through April 22.

The golden poison dart frog comes from Colombia’s Choco Forest. The toxin they create in nature comes from the beetles they eat. However, the two hoppers in this exhibit are fed crickets, so they don’t actively produce the toxin.
