Tails and Trails Rescue, an Indianapolis-based nonprofit dedicated to saving and rehoming dogs in need, announces its upcoming Annual Fundraiser, Country Tails and Crafty Ales Festival. This is an energetic, community-wide event designed to raise critical funds for the organization’s life-saving operations.

The event will be held on October 17, 2026, from 2pm to 7pm at German Park, 8600 S Meridian St, Indianapolis IN 46217. All proceeds will directly support rescue operations, including veterinary care, behavioral rehabilitation, foster family programs, adoption services, and community outreach initiatives.

This year’s fundraiser promises a memorable day for attendees of all ages. The event is thoughtfully designed to be welcoming, fun, and dog-friendly, celebrating the animals at the heart of the mission. Guests can experience:

  • Meet & Greet with Adoptable Dogs — Spend time with some of the wonderful dogs currently in Tails and Trails Rescue’s care and potentially meet your new best friend

  • Live Entertainment — Local musicians and performers will keep the energy lively throughout the day

  • Live and Silent Auction — Bid on unique items and experiences generously donated by local businesses and community partners

  • Food & Refreshments — Traditional cookout items such as hamburgers, hot dogs, brats and more will be offered for purchase as well as sodas, water, beer and wine.

  • Family and Dog-Friendly Activities — Guests can enjoy visiting Vendor Village where vendors will display their wares or services.  Door prizes, a 50/50 ball drop and more awaits those in attendance.  Guest dogs can enjoy running a lure course or dressing up in their favorite costume to participate in a dog costume/talent contest.

The event is open to the public and leashed, well-behaved dogs are welcome to attend.

Tails and Trails Rescue is actively seeking community-minded businesses and individuals to partner with the organization as official event sponsors. Every dollar raised goes directly toward giving dogs the care, safety, and love they deserve.  Visit tailsandtrails.org/ctca for online vendor or sponsorship registration

Founded on the belief that every dog deserves a loving home, Tails and Trails Rescue works tirelessly to pull dogs from high-intake shelters, neglectful situations, and abandonment, providing them with the medical attention, behavioral rehabilitation, and compassionate foster care they need before matching them with carefully screened, forever families throughout the greater Indianapolis community and beyond.

Each year, Tails and Trails Rescue:

  • Rescues dogs from shelters and urgent situations across the region

  • Successfully places dogs into permanent, loving homes

  • Partners with volunteer foster families to provide safe temporary care

  • Connects families with their perfect canine companions

  • Administers veterinary services and rehabilitation support

“Every dog that comes through our doors has a story — one of hardship, uncertainty, and ultimately, hope. This fundraiser is not just an event; it is a community coming together to say that every life matters and that no dog should be left behind," says director Moe Tibbetts. "We are deeply grateful to everyone in Indianapolis and the surrounding areas who has opened their hearts and their wallets to support this mission. Thanks to you, dogs that once had nothing now have everything: a safe home, a loving family, and a future full of tail wags.”
