Children's Christmas book features Ollie the therapy dog!

A 9-year-old therapy dog named Ollie not only brings cheer and comfort to people in nursing homes and other facilities, he also is an accomplished hopscotch-jumper and basketball dunker! But that’s not all: The handsome gray Schnauzer also is the subject of a new book.
“Ollie’s Three Christmas Wishes” has just been published by Kids at Heart Publishing in Cambridge City, Indiana. Subtitled “One Wish, One Wag at a Time,” the book is designed for children but appeals to adults who have followed Ollie’s journey as a therapy animal for the last eight years.
His owner, Donna Burns, said the inspiration for the book came from the impact Ollie has on the people he visits.

“I decided to write a book because of Ollie's therapy dog visits,” says Burns. “He goes to assisted living places, nursing homes, hospitals and schools. Wherever he goes, he brings joy and love. He even lets the ladies hug and kiss him!”
The book is about Ollie, a smart and caring dog, who fulfills Christmas wishes for his friends during the holiday season.
Ollie and Burns have several book signings coming up in Columbus, Indiana:
· Saturday, Nov. 14, at noon, Speck’s Pet Supply, 3860 Carlos Folger Dr.
· Friday, Nov. 27, 2:30 p.m., Belmont Health & Rehabilitation, 540 Belmont Dr.
· Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2 p.m. at Silver Oaks Health Campus, 2011 Chappa Dr.
