VOTE FOR DIXIE! Dixie the Praying Dog helps disabled kids and veterans

“Pet Pals TV,” host Patty Spitler hosted Dixie, a therapy dog dedicated to helping disabled kids and veterans.

Dixie’s primary mission is to assist disabled children and veterans. Her owner, Calvert, highlighted the impact she has at events, stating, “Her job is to make people smile.”

Dixie’s works with Indy Honor Flight organization, which allows her to accompany WWII, Korean and Vietnam veterans on flights to Washington, D.C., where they visit monuments honoring their service.

Recently, Dixie was nominated for the Pet Lover’s Choice Awards, where she currently holds first place. Calvert mentioned that votes can be cast for Dixie for free through their social media pages, with an option to buy a vote to support animal shelters in Los Angeles. If they win, they will attend a red-carpet ceremony in Hollywood, an adventure both Calvert and Dixie are excited about.

Dixie, who is a blue-tipped coonhound, celebrated her 10th birthday in December. While giving commands to Dixie, Calvert demonstrated her skill on this morning’s show, showcasing her ability to listen and engage with her audience.
