Hibernating turtles awaken after winter slumber

Turtles are emerging from their winter hibernation. As temperatures rise towards 50 degrees Fahrenheit, the turtle's metabolism begins to reactivate, signaling the end of brumation. 

Jen Hancock, director of wildlife rescue service Re-Wilding Indiana and a licensed wildlife rehabilitator, is encouraging residents to be mindful of wildlife activity this time of year.
