IndyHumane, FIDO partner to expand spay/neuter services

IndyHumane and FIDO Indy have partnered to expand spay and neuter services for pets in Indianapolis after receiving a $7,500 grant. The organizations are now raising funds to match the grant from Operation Pit Stop and increase access to free and low-cost surgeries during the spring puppy season.

The partnership combines IndyHumane’s medical facilities with FIDO Indy’s community outreach and transportation services.

The effort is intended to reduce unwanted litters that contribute to overcrowding in local animal shelters. The program is limited to pet owners who meet income requirements or receive government assistance.

Both organizations say the need is urgent.
