STREAMING: A unique dog park, service dog training, all about Dalmatians, and a rescuer battles cancer

Patty Spitler presents Pet Pals TV, Saturday at 10:30 a.m. on WISH-TV and streaming here at PetPalsTV.com. Here's a look at the stories we'll have for you:

Crate Escapes Dog Park and Bar is a unique concept that blends an off-leash dog park with a bar atmosphere for pet owners in Westfield, Indiana. Barney Wood talks to owner Megan Schaffer, a dog trainer and veterinary technician, about featuring adoptable dogs from rescue organizations at the park.

What is a puppy raiser? Brandt Carter of Canine Companions explains the steps of training a service dog – she has raised 22 of them! She also has a big surprise for Patty in honor of her years promoting service dog organizations. Tune in and find out what it is!

Pets can heal! Pamela Terhune, owner of Grateful Rescue and Sanctuary in Muncie, Indiana, is battling cancer. She sits down with Patty to share a health update, opening up about her surgery and how her dogs have helped her through this challenging period.

“25 Cats from Qatar” is a moving documentary that follows Katy McHugh, founder of Milwaukee’s Sip & Purr Cat Café, who learns about the Middle Eastern city’s huge cat population. She sets out on a daring mission to bring 25 lucky cats from the city of Doha to the U.S. for adoption. KJ, Our Kitty Correspondent, has the story.

Dalmatians are well-known for their beautiful spotted coats and can be great pets for active households, needing plenty of exercise to keep them happy and healthy. These large dogs have friendly personalities and are loyal to their owners. Barney Wood tells you all about them in Know Your Breed, brought to you by Noah’s Animal Hospitals.
