Pups on a bus, service dog help, pet health advice and paying tribute to photojournalist Steve Sweitzer

Patty Spitler presents Pet Pals TV, Saturday at 10:30 a.m. on WISH-TV and streaming here at PetPalsTV.com. Here's a look at the stories we'll have for you:

It’s Indiana’s first outdoor school bus adventure for canines! Indy Pup Bus picks up your dog in a specially designed bus, then heads to private dog parks for structured fun and exercise. Come aboard with Danielle Mitchell and share the adventure!

Patty and News 8’s Britt Baker, along with Indiana Canine Assistant Network (ICAN) Communications Director Samantha Thompson, introduce Ann Stevenson and her service dog, Parker. Stevenson has a form of muscular dystrophy and relies on Parker for mobility help. They also talk about how service dogs are trained.

Tom Dock, certified veterinary journalist from Noah’s Animal Hospitals, discusses ways to keep your pets safe this summer. Are raw or homemade diets good for your pets? Can your pet catch hantavirus and transmit it to you? Some good advice about those and other issues from our pet health reporter!

Steve Sweitzer was chief photographer at WISH-TV for decades, an innovative, award-winning journalist who could shoot, report and edit a news or feature story. He passed away on May 21, leaving a legacy of important work. Steve was an integral part of Pet Pals TV, and this week we remember his contributions as well as his humanity as a husband, father, friend and mentor. WISH-TV has the tribute.
