PurrCon announces new collaboration!

Something special is coming together for cat lovers and pop culture fans in 2026.
Returning to Indianapolis May 8–10, 2026, PurrCon — the cat culture hub within PopCon — will welcome the next chapter of Joey’s Journey to a Million, in collaboration with EveryCat Health Foundation and actor-filmmaker Joey Luthman, bringing together entertainment, feline health advocacy, and meaningful storytelling inside one of the country’s most vibrant fan conventions.
Designed and produced by KJ Media Company, PurrCon has become known for meeting cat parents where they already are — inside a pop culture environment filled with fandom, creativity, and shared experiences. By placing feline health conversations at the center of PopCon, the event creates moments of discovery that feel natural, human, and deeply engaging.
“This kind of collaboration is the heart of my work,” said KJ McGlinn, Founder of PurrCon. “Partnering with organizations like EveryCat Health Foundation allows us to bring real science, real advocacy, and real stories into spaces where people are already open, curious, and connected. At PurrCon, those conversations might start with a celebrity cuddling a kitten or a fan stopping by a panel — and suddenly something meaningful clicks. That’s where impact lives.”
The collaboration grew organically after McGlinn first connected with Luthman and his team during Joey’s Ride for Cats, a 45-day cross-country fundraising journey benefiting EveryCat Health Foundation. Luthman appeared on McGlinn’s TV segment during the journey, and the alignment was immediate — a shared belief that storytelling and community are powerful tools for change.
Building on that momentum, Joey’s Journey to a Million continues at PurrCon 2026, expanding the mission through live experiences, education, and fan engagement. Throughout the three-day event, Luthman will be joined by fellow actors and filmmakers Allisyn Snyder and Dylan Snyder, alongside EveryCat Health Foundation, for programming rooted in PurrCon’s core pillars: educate. empower. entertain.

“Donations are still coming in as people discover the videos,” said Luthman. “The journey to the lighthouse may be complete, but I have a dream to raise one million dollars for EveryCat Health Foundation. I was so inspired by the incredible cat lovers I met during my 45-day Ride for Cats, and learned a lot about feline health, as well as how much more support is still needed.”
Planned highlights at PurrCon 2026 include Joey Luthman’s signature OneWheel moments — including a playful PURRade through the PopCon halls — setting the tone for a weekend where Joey, Allisyn Snyder, and Dylan Snyder are fully immersed in the PurrCon space with fans. Throughout the event, EveryCat Health Foundation will appear on stage and across the show floor with thoughtful ways for cat lovers to learn, engage, and carry the mission home, alongside interactive moments tied to Joey’s Journey to a Million and an exclusive first look at the Joey’s Journey documentary as part of the PopCon Film Festival.
All of this unfolds alongside beloved PurrCon staples like Kitten Therapy Sessions and JeoPURRdy, creating a weekend where pop culture, connection, and compassion move together.
“At PurrCon, those conversations might start with a celebrity cuddling a kitten or a fan in cosplay stopping by a panel — and suddenly something meaningful clicks,” McGlinn added. “Last year, that looked like a Ghostbuster adopting a kitten — who had just finished an adorable photo shoot with a well-known actor. Those moments aren’t staged — they happen because the environment invites connection. That’s where impact lives.”
