NEXT SHOW: A red-tailed hawk, how cats can lower your stress, and is a Sheltie the dog for you?

Patty Spitler presents Pet Pals TV, Saturday at 10:30 a.m. on WISH-TV and streaming here at PetPalsTV.com. Here's a look at the stories we'll have for you:

Meet Ozzy, a female red-tailed hawk and wildlife ambassador from Animal Care Alliance. Volunteer Krissi Williams talks to Patty about wildlife safety and education before the spring season, and the rescue bird helps to teach the public about the importance of predators in the ecosystem

KJ, our Kitty Correspondent, brings Kitten Therapy Sessions to Pet Pals TV — along with some adorable kittens from Alliance for Responsible Pet Ownership (ARPO). She’ll share the science behind why time with cats lowers stress and boosts those feel-good hormones, along with a sneak peek at PurrCon in May.

Mike Underwood, a professional trainer at Camp Bow Wow Lawrence, and wife Kathy highlight how pet owners can prepare for increased activity for energetic dogs in the spring. And Patty gets to meet their new Sheltie pup, the adorable Guinness!

The Gadget Guy is back with some new items to enhance your life with your pets. There’s a dog food topper, some cute toys and even something for pet owners who like to ski! Patty and her dog Harry are there to help!

The Shetland Sheepdog, also known as the Sheltie, is an intelligent, quick, and obedient herder from Scotland. They are easy to train for obedience, agility, and herding trials. As sensitive and affectionate family dogs, they also like to bark and make excellent watchdogs. Barney Wood tells us more in Know Your Breed, sponsored by Noah's Animal Hospitals.
