Service dog helps veteran, a piggy paradise, impressive owl and keeping your pets healthy

After 89-year-old Rex Gordon served our country in Vietnam, he came home with some mobility issues and also his outlook on life. He found hope and comfort with Lunar, a service dog from Indiana Canine Assistant Network (ICAN). This veteran and his four-legged pal are happy to share their story with Patty!

Remember the recently abandoned pig in an Indianapolis park? Doc Holliday is now living the good life at Oinking Acres, where 150 pigs and many other farm animals reside! Patty talks to its president, Olivia Head, about the Brownsburg sanctuary.

The Alliance for Responsible Pet Ownership hosted its Second Annual Whiskey & Whiskers fundraiser at West Fork Whiskey Co., featuring over 100 whiskeys and supporting veterinary care for rescued cats and dogs. KJ, our Kitty Correspondent, hosted the event with Patty and they talk about ARPO’s mission.

Check out that wingspan! Meet a 21-year-old Eurasian Eagle-Owl that is not only large and beautiful, he also is very powerful when he’s out hunting. Silly Safaris’ Meerkat Mel and Amazon John have the scoop on this amazing bird.

Patty’s spunky little Maltese, Harry, is having some health issues. Tom Dock, from Noah’s Animal Hospitals, offers tips on how to keep your furry friends in top shape, starting with routine bloodwork to help catch any illnesses that might go under the radar.
